Where do I start? This year I was able to spend my birthday in Seattle, where family and friends are, as well as attend the AWP writers conference! I can’t tell you how much fun it all has been. For one, I didn’t realize how much of a poetry community was out there. I need to tap into it more. The synergy was electric walking around and talking to other poets. Meanwhile, the expo part with all the booths was enormous. Here is one book I picked up from a lovely author I met while I was in New Orleans last October.
